Casius Clay, boxing legend, changed his name to Muhammad Ali after converting to Islam on February 25, 1964 immediately after winning his first heavyweight title against Sonny Liston in round seven.
America I AM; The African American Imprint, presented by Tavis Smiley, celebrates nearly 500 years of African American contributions to the United States. Visitors of the exhibition will have the opportunity to witness more than 200 rare historic objects, documents, photos and multimedia that explore how African Americans have helped shape this country.
The exhibition is now open at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
